One smart move if you need a private loan for your nursing program

FreshRN | Growing New Nurses

If you’re making a final school decision right now (👀 looking at you, May 1 deadlines), and think you’ll need a private student loan…

Please don’t just Google and pick the first lender you see. Interest rates vary widely with private loans (I've seen some over 20%! 😱) Private loans are a big committment and should be the last option for covering school (use federal loans first, people!).

My partner, Juno, has a free tool that uses group buying power (think: Costco, but for student loans) to get lower rates on private loans for students (both undergrad and graduate).

  • You can sign up with no cost or commitment
  • It shows you the lowest rates in one place (no endless searching)
  • And you could save up to 4% off typical market rates

Even a 1-2% lower rate could save you thousands over the lifetime of the loan.

You’ve got options, and this is one worth looking at. I do not recommend services that I don't 100% stand behind or wouldn't use myself, and this is one of them! Plus their website is very easy to navigate and understand, especially for those who feel like financial stuff is another language!

You've got this! All the best to you in your nursing program decisions.

Best,

Kati 🪴

FreshRN | Growing New Nurses Welcome to Vitals + Vibes, where I share a quick, high-impact tip pulled from the archives (and my real-life nursing experience). In today’s edition, I’m sharing the only actual complaint I’ve ever heard from a patient about a nursing student (and it had nothing to do with skills or knowledge). Instead, it was all about missing the emotional temperature of the room. This one’s a must-read for students and new nurses who want to grow that soft-skill awareness we...

ICU nurse Emelia Klocke, MSN RN, left one of my drip charts at her nurses’ station. A few days later... It was taped to the clipboards of experienced RNs and even ended up in the unit educator’s “helpful resources” file. After that, nurses started asking where it came from. Her manager even told them to go ask her. Answer: Breakthrough ICU. Boom, baby! Hearing that made this nurse educator feel amazing. The same feeling when you plan a trip and everyone is having a fabulous time... or you...
